Hylkje Steensma	Hylkje is a ‘qualified teacher’, for children as well as for adults, specializing in: ‘Dutch as a second language’. She is also a qualified ‘language coordinator for schools’. In the Netherlands she worked free-lance for the ‘Moluccan Educational Centre’ where she developed educational materials, including two bi-lingual books for children. Moreover she worked as an all round primary school teacher and as a language teacher for adults and children. During a 10-year stay in Indonesia, she taught Dutch to Indonesians and also to Dutch children. She now teaches Dutch at the International Baccalaureate programme of several Secondary Schools in the Greater London area. She also is a member of the teaching-staff of the University of Westminster’s Modern Languages Evening Programme. From September 2010 she offers private courses and tuition via webcam and web phone. For contact details click here.	Hylkje is gediplomeerd basisschool-leerkracht, gediplomeerd ‘Educatief Werker Volwasseneneducatie NT2’ en gediplomeerd ‘Taalcoördinator voor het Basisonderwijs’. Zij werkte in Nederland in het basisonderwijs als groepsleerkracht, als leerkracht Moluks Maleis, als taalcoördinator en als remedial teacher NT2. Zij gaf tevens lessen Nederlands aan een opleiding voor Volwasseneneducatie. Tijdens een tienjarig verblijf in Indonesië gaf zij lessen Nederlands aan zowel kinderen als volwassenen. In Nederland werkte zij ‘free-lance’ voor het ‘Landelijk Steunpunt Educatie Molukkers’ waarvoor zij lesmateriaal ontwikkelde, waaronder een tweetal tweetalige leesboeken voor kinderen. Sinds 2004 woont zij in Londen. Zij geeft nu les aan leerlingen van het International Baccalaureate programma aan verschillende scholen voor voortgezet onderwijs in Groter Londen.
